The female athletics of Ringgold High School are looking like power houses this year. The RHS softball team had a huge win against Lakeview last night. Lakeview was a bot a sub-region and a rivalry game, which made the victory even sweeter. The Lady Tiger Softball Team was down 0-2 until the 6th inning, but that didn’t stop them from rallying together. The Lady Tigers pulled through for the victory, scoring 4 points in the 6th inning and coming away with a 4-2 victory. Dare Schley was the biggest hitters last night for the softball team. Schley had three good hits, and her last hit was a two-run homerun, putting the team ahead. Kayla Woody also had a good game last night, as did the two pitchers for the game: Briana Foster and Kaylee Philips.
The Lady Tigers Volleyball Team handled business indoors last night as well. While the JV volleyball team fell short against the Heritage Generals, they persevered through the match against Murray County. Varsity beat Murray County in 3 sets and lost to Heritage in 2 sets. Varsity also won the Silver Bracket in the LFO Tournament this past Saturday, where they were 4-2 for the day. Sierra Wardsworth, one of the middle blockers, gave some insight into the team dynamic. She explained how she loves the advice and wisdom Coach Kendal gives to the team by saying, “Always play like you do in practice.” It sounds like that advice is working for the RHS volleyball teams.
The Lady Tigers, in both softball and volleyball, make Ringgold High School proud. Go Tigers!
