Junie B. Jones: A One Act Play

Contributed by Lauren Oliver and Cooper Shull

The One Act Play is a special part of the Fine Arts Department at Ringgold High School. The play is always full of talented cast members and this year the theater class is doing a One Act Play on Junie B. Jones. It is comprised of 25 students from all grades with varying levels of experience. One of the stars of the show is Shannon Owens.

Shannon is a senior at Ringgold High School who is passionate about acting and has earned herself a lead role in the upcoming One Act Play. She will be playing May: a bratty 1st grader. Shannon, along with her fellow cast members have worked countless hours to make this play a great success. Each morning they spend first block going over their roles and reviewing the scripts. Even during their flex class they are hard at work.

The Junie B. Jones play has already pre sold over 1,000 tickets and looking to sell even more. This is all thanks to Mrs. Ellis’s leadership and direction for the play. She has transformed the theatre program into a thriving program at RHS.

The play is set for showing on October 12th and 13th in the Robin L. Christian Theatre.
