Jordan, Coach Shell, Addi, and Coach Clemmons

Jordan Wideman is a senior, and a three sport Varsity athlete for RHS. He plays football, basketball, and runs track. He says, “My brother, Jay, had a lot of impact on me playing sports. I wanted to be just like him.” Jordan says he plans to attend college and continue his football career after he graduates. When asked about who has impacted him during his time at Ringgold, he says, “Any teacher that I have had at RHS has helped me academically and helped me get through high school. I want to specially thank Coach Walker for pushing me everyday in the weight room. I want to also thank Mrs. Walker for letting me come spend flex with her and not kicking me out.”

Addi Broome is a senior and a member of the softball and basketball teams. She says she started playing softball because her  brother was always so busy playing baseball, and she wanted to follow in his footsteps. “I also loved to be outside. Softball has given me lifelong friendships while being able to compete at a level that I could never push myself to. I started playing basketball to stay in shape,  and I ended up loving the sport. It made me a better athlete which helped me as a person as well with the hardships that came with it.” Addi plans to go to Chattanooga State to earn a business degree before going to cosmetology school. She hopes to have a career in the beauty industry as a hairstylist. When asked who has influenced her academically, Addi said Mrs. Fleming and Mrs. Keith.  “I have never been great at English, and it doesn't come naturally to me. Mrs. Fleming taught me how to analyze poems and readings like I never imagined I could. She has also made me such a great writer by pushing me to perfection, which helped me to get an A in a college class the next year. Mrs. Keith helped me to reach a level of knowledge that I didn't know that I had and realize my love for science.”

Congratulations to both of these student-athletes!
