Congratulations to Liliana Bates and Malachi Hill for being named student-athletes of the month for October.

Lily is a senior member of the Tiger Girls Dance Team. She says, “I have been dancing ever since I could walk. When I was younger, my mom decided to put me into dance classes because it was my dream to become a ballerina. Ever since then, I have always had a passion for dance. Dance has helped me become the person I am today, and I couldn't imagine life without it.“ After graduation, Lily plans to become a speech pathologist, and she also hopes to continue her dance career. When asked who has impacted her academically, she said, “Mrs. Lane is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She has had the biggest impact on me in high school because of her gentle nature and compassion for helping others. She is not only there for her students, but she is there for everyone around her. If I ever need help with anything, I know that she will be there to help me. If one day, I am only a little bit like her, I will be happy!”

Malachi Hill is a senior member of the RHS football team. He has been playing football since he was four years old, and says he fell in love with the game early on. After graduation, Mal hopes to play college football and continue his studies. When asked who has impacted him at RHS, he stated, “Mr. Bryce , Mrs. Meyer,  and Mrs. Boone have had a huge influence on me while at RHS.   You can tell the teachers that actually care about what you do after high school, and I felt these teachers cared for me the most. They just teach differently.”

Congratulations to you both!
