Congratulations to our September Student-Athletes of the Month: Audrey Gaston and Peyton Williams.

Audrey Gaston is a senior who has been cheering since 6th grade. When she was asked why she started cheer, she said, “I have always enjoyed gymnastics, being loud, and being a leader since I was young, so I thought, going into 6th grade, why not put all of those things together and try out for the cheer team? I have loved it ever since.”  Audrey plans on attending Dalton State for one year since she already has her first year done, and then hopefully transferring to UGA to major in Occupational Therapy. When asked who her biggest role models are, she replied, “Coach Fleming has been an amazing role model and mentor in my high school career. She has had such an immense impact on me as a student, athlete, and as a person. She is a caring, supportive, cof ach and teacher, who cares about all her students. Mrs. Fleming has seen so much potential in me even when I was a freshman on the RHS cheer team, and as a student in her classroom for literature and journalism. A big thank you to Coach Fleming for helping me achieve this award!”

Peyton Williams is a junior football player, who has been playing his whole life. When asked why he first decided to play, his answer was, “Because I used to watch college football all the time and it made me want to play myself.” Peyton says he doesn’t have any specific plans on which college to go to, just any college he thinks would give him the best chance to achieve his dreams. He plans on playing college football and hopefully going to the NFL in the future. When asked who was one of his biggest role models and supporters at RHS, he said, “Probably Mrs. Holcomb because she never gave up on me, and always supported me.”

Great job to both of these outstanding Ringgold Tigers!
